This was the only window that was in the porch when we got the house. This wall is know filled with windows as you will see in the other pictures

Before Pictures of the screen porch

New hardwood floors in what was the old screen porch on the second floor

Fresh painted wall and new light in the old screen porch

Another view

The texture on the wall is called by some people as holey smooth.
I just call it old house wall.

The old girl is finally getting a new coat (of paint that is)

You just never know what the weather here is going to bring sun one minute rain the next.

After many gallons of paint and much time wasted we've finally landed on the colors of Summit gray and Knitting needles. Summit gray is the body color and Knitting needle the lighter trim. So we ended up back with the two colors that we had started out with, but just in reverse of what we origainally planned on.

We have finished with all the new siding and painting on the garage and the new addition. A very nice feeling to finally have it done. We are planning to move on to the front of the house in the spring.

At last a new post !!!!

Scooby Doo welcomes the new balcony and Halloween to Estelle.
On each side of the lower porch the roof is supported by three 11 inch square columns and one half column at the the rear. These is how the pattern on the cement pad showed that it was originally. We've added a composite deck on top and then the railing to make for a nice place to seat and watch the world go by.

Yippee! The addition has a roof with shingles and no leaks! It's great to take down the blue tarps and put away the water pump - that we used all spring to manage the runoff.

We did the roof on the garage, but had to get some extra help for the second story addition on the South of the house. Getting the trusses up there - sheeting - and roofing - was a little too high for Scott. And I wasn't about to try to do it all myself (those trusses are heavy!).

So, here's what it looks like with the garage done.

Also, here's a pic of Scott hammering out the doorway in the addition room upstairs (area will become two bathrooms).
